Needle roller bearings

Needle roller bearings

Needle roller bearings are roller bearings with long cylindrical rolling elements.
They are particularly suitable for high radial forces and limited installation space.
However, they cannot absorb axial forces.

Typical areas of application include:
Gearboxes, packaging machines and machine tools, …

Drawn cup needle roller bearings

Drawn cup needle roller bearings are a subcategory of needle roller bearings with the smallest possible radial height.
They consist of needles, a cage, a thin outer ring but not a fixed inner ring and are open on both sides.
Due to this design, drawn cup needle roller bearings can withstand particularly high radial forces.
Drawn cup needle roller bearings are often used when the housing bore cannot be used as a raceway and when space-saving installation is required.

Typical areas of application include:
Gearboxes, engines, …

Needle roller and cage assemblies

Needle roller and cage assemblies consist only of needles and the corresponding cage. The needles thus run directly in the housing bore or on the shaft.
Needle roller and cage assemblies therefore have no outer ring and no fixed inner ring.
Hence, all elements that are to be used as raceways must be hardened and ground, and their radial height can only correspond to the diameter of the respective needles. Needle roller and cage assemblies therefore allow for bearing arrangements with minimal radial installation space, are suitable for high speeds and easy to assemble.

Typical areas of application include:
Gearboxes, engines, …

Inner rings

Inner rings are made of hardened rolling bearing steel and have no grooves. They are applied when the shaft cannot be used as a raceway in the case of needle roller and cage assemblies, drawn cup needle roller bearings or needle roller bearings, or when major axial displacements are required.

Typical areas of application are:
wherever needle roller and cage assemblies, drawn cup needle roller bearings or needle roller bearings are used.
