Bearing Housings / Bearing Units

Flanged housings

Flanged housings are mainly used for the installation of self-aligning ball bearings and spherical roller bearings.
Depending on whether the housings are provided with two or four mounting holes, they are referred to as 2-hole or 4-hole flanges.
Most flange housings are made of gray cast iron, cast steel or sheet steel, and some are provided with a lubrication hole, which makes maintenance quick and easy.

Plummer block housings

Plummer block housings are ready-to-assemble units that are usually mounted upright on a mounting surface.
They are mainly used for the installation of self-aligning ball bearings and spherical roller bearings.
Most plummer block housings are made of gray cast iron, cast steel or sheet steel, and some are provided with a lubrication hole, which makes maintenance quick and easy.

A distinction is made between split and unsplit plummer block housings.
Split plummer block housings are mostly used for bearing stanchions with spherical roller bearings, barrel roller bearings and self-aligning ball bearings.
Unsplit plummer block housings, on the other hand, are often intended for radial insert ball bearings (Y-bearings).

Typical areas of application include:
Agricultural machines, construction machines, paper machines, cement machines, printing machines, …

Flanged bearing units

Flanged bearing units consist of a flanged bearing housing and the associated bearing.

They are offered in a wide variety of designs:

  • two-hole
  • three-hole
  • four-hole
  • round
  • oval
  • triangular
  • square

The most frequently used type of bearing is the so-called radial insert ball bearing, also known as the Y-bearing.

These are usually sealed on both sides in order to be protected from various external influences (splash water, dust, dirt, etc.).

Typical areas of application include:
Mechanical engineering, agricultural equipment, …

Plummer block units consist of a plummer block housing and the associated bearing.
The bearings used are either spherical roller bearings, barrel roller bearings, self-aligning ball bearings or radial insert ball bearings (Y-bearings).
These are usually sealed on both sides in order to be protected against various external influences (splash water, dust, dirt, …).
